Muralist art in Mexico

READING WALLS

The renowned Mexican muralist school was born in the walls of the old buildings located in the center of the city. With the vision of education secretary José Vasconcelos and with the support of great artists such as Diego Rivera and José Clemente Orozco, this movement emerged in the 1920s and went around the world, giving rise to international artists such as Jean Charlott, Isamo Noguchi, Edward Weston and Tina Modotti, among others.

We visit several sites that host part of this great collection of paintings, including the National Palace, the Abelardo L Rodriguez Market, the Ministry for Public Education, and San Ildelfonso.
